You’ve thought about it. A place on the water. Somewhere the family can go on long weekends without burning a week of vacation every time. A spot that’s yours — where the kids know the dock, you know the fishing holes, and everyone stops arguing about where to go this summer. A cottage would be nice, but the price tag on a waterfront property in Ontario these days is something else.
A seasonal RV site at Rousseau’s Landing is a different kind of answer. Bring your own rig, park it on Sandbar Lake inside Sandbar Provincial Park, and have your own piece of Northwestern Ontario from the time the season opens right through to the fall. Full electrical hookup, fresh water connection, and grey water access are included at your site. Your picnic table is there when you arrive and there all summer. Show up Friday night after work, and you’re sitting by the fire before dark.
The water here is clean and cold — the kind of water you notice right away if you’ve been drinking from a city tap all week. The setting is genuine Northern Ontario: tall trees, a quiet lake, real wilderness five minutes in any direction. There are no condos across the bay. No jet skis tearing through the morning calm. Rousseau’s Landing sits on private land inside Sandbar Provincial Park, and we’re one of the only properties like it in Canada. The lake is yours to enjoy.
Walleye and Northern Pike fishing is available right off Sandbar Lake from the moment you arrive. If you want to mix it up through the summer, we have boats cached on more than 15 surrounding lakes — each one offering a different kind of fishing experience. Full details on what’s available are on our Fishing Packages page. Bait shops and fishing licences are just 4 miles south in Ignace on Highway 599.
Showers are available at the lodge on a per-use or weekly basis — details are on the Rates page. The dump station is located at Sandbar Provincial Park, about 3 kilometres from camp. Firewood, ice, and propane refills are available on site so you don’t need to plan supply runs into town unless you want to.
Seasonal site holders become part of the Rousseau’s Landing community. You get to know the camp, the other families, and the water. The kids remember it for the rest of their lives. Some of our most loyal guests started as summer regulars and have been coming back every year for decades.
Seasonal availability is very limited — contact us to find out what’s open for this coming summer. You’ll find pricing and booking details on our Rates page.
When you picture what your family’s summer rhythm could look like if you had a spot on the water that was waiting for you every single weekend — what would that actually change for you?
