Some guests prefer sleeping in their own rig. There’s nothing wrong with that — after a long day in the bush for moose or a full day on the water after walleye, coming back to your own space, your own bed, and your own kitchen is hard to beat. RV Sites at Rousseau’s Landing are built for guests who think that way.
Set up camp the day you arrive and use your RV as your basecamp for however long you’re staying — a few nights for a quick hunt, or a full week of fishing.
The water hookup provides clean, fresh water from a quality source — which matters when you’re cooking and cleaning up after a full day outdoors. The dump station is located at Sandbar Provincial Park, about 3 kilometres away. Showers are available at the lodge on a daily or weekly fee basis. Firewood, ice, and propane refills are easy to arrange on site.
Rousseau’s Landing sits inside Sandbar Provincial Park on Sandbar Lake, 4 miles north of Ignace on Highway 599. For moose hunters, the camp gives you access to four Wildlife Management Units – Full details on hunting packages, what’s included, and how it all works are on the Bear Hunting and Moose Hunting pages.
Fishing guests using our RV Sites have the same access as cabin guests to Sandbar Lake and our boat cache network. We have boats set up on a dozen surrounding lakes.
The camp atmosphere is one of the things people mention most when they leave reviews. It’s a family outdoor camp. The other guests around you are hunters, anglers, and families who came for the same reasons you did. Quiet hours start at 11:00 p.m. Everyone here respects that.
Ignace is 4 miles south for groceries, restaurants, and the two bait shops that carry fishing licenses. You can get everything you need before heading into the bush or out on the water.
When you picture your ideal hunting or fishing basecamp — the one where you’ve got your own space, all the hookups, and world-class fish and game right outside — what does that week actually look like for your group?
