Fishing Season (May – September)
Summer temperatures in Ignace typically range from 15°C to 28°C (60°F to 82°F). Early season (May/June) can still bring cool mornings and occasional frost.
Mid-summer offers warm, long days perfect for fishing.
Evenings cool down pleasantly — ideal for campfire time. Rain is possible throughout the season, so waterproof layers are always recommended.
Bear Hunting Season (August – September)
Late summer evenings begin to cool as fall approaches.
Temperatures can drop significantly after sunset when you’re on stand.
Pack warm layers, waterproof gear, and be prepared for temperature swings between daytime and evening hunts.
Moose Hunting Season (October – December)
Fall and early winter in Northwestern Ontario brings cold temperatures, potential snow, and shorter days.
October can range from mild to near-freezing.
November and December bring winter conditions. Dress in layers, bring cold-weather hunting gear, and prepare for all conditions.
What to Pack
Regardless of season, we recommend layers, waterproof outer gear, warm evening wear, bug repellent and/or Thermacell, sunscreen for on-the-water days, and a good hat. Remember — wifi and cell service are very limited at camp, so download any weather apps or maps before you arrive.
