Reusable Game Bags for Bear and Big Game | 6-Piece Meat Bag Set
Six reusable, breathable game bags: two 28-inch and four 48-inch bags with rolled edges, made to keep meat clean from the field to the freezer. Gear we recommend for bear hunters heading to Ignace, Ontario.
A good hunt ends at the freezer, not at the shot. Here’s how to get the meat there clean. We run semi-guided fall bear hunts and self-guided moose hunts out of Sandbar Lake near Ignace, with a walk-in cooler and freezer on the property.

Getting the animal out is only half the job. Keeping the meat clean, cool and free of flies and dirt on the way from the field to the freezer is the other half. These reusable game bags are made for that: breathable, tear-resistant fabric that lets air move around the meat while keeping insects, dirt and debris off it.
The set includes six bags: two 28-inch bags and four 48-inch bags, so you have room for quarters and smaller pieces. The edges are rolled for extra strength, and the bags are washable and reusable season after season.
Why Use Game Bags?
- Airflow. Breathable fabric lets meat cool and form a dry surface instead of trapping heat and moisture.
- Protection. The weave keeps flies, dirt, leaves and debris off the meat during the pack-out and while it hangs.
- Tough. Tear-resistant fabric and rolled edges handle brush, rocks and rope.
- Reusable. Wash them and pack them for next year, instead of buying single-use bags every season.

After the Harvest at Rousseau’s Landing
Our bear and moose hunters have access to a walk-in cooler and freezer on the property to cool and store meat, and we have moose hanging poles available. Field dressing and quartering typically happen in the field, with final processing at camp. Most hunters take their animal to the local butcher in Ignace for cutting and wrapping. Clean, breathable bags make each of those steps easier.
Tip: game bags work best on meat that has been cooled and kept clean. Check your bag sizes against the animal you expect to quarter. A moose is far larger than a deer or a bear, so plan on more bags than one set if you’re hunting moose.
Coming from outside Ontario? Our Bear Hunt page lists the licences and documents non-resident bear hunters need, and our Moose Hunt FAQ covers moose tags. Rules change every year, so check current requirements before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions
What comes in the set?
Six reusable bags: two 28-inch bags and four 48-inch bags.
Can I use these for bear?
Yes. The set is sold for deer, elk, moose, caribou and bear. The 48-inch bags are the larger size in the set, so use those for bigger pieces and the 28-inch bags for smaller ones.
Are these enough for a moose?
The set is sold for moose, but a moose is much larger than a deer or a bear and yields far more meat, so many hunters will want more than one set. If you’re not sure, call us and we’ll help you plan. See our Moose Hunt FAQ for how our moose hunts work.
Are game bags reusable?
Yes. These are washable and made to last more than one season.
Why breathable fabric?
Breathable fabric lets air reach the meat so it can cool and dry, while still keeping insects and dirt off.
What else do I need to pack out an animal?
A sharp knife or field dressing kit, a headlamp for working in low light, and a pack. See the kit list above.
