Housekeeping Kitchens: Built for Real Stays
Every cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen. This is not a partial setup or kitchenette — these are working kitchens designed for week-long meal planning.
Expect: full-size refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, coffee maker, cookware and basic utensils, and cabinet and counter space.
This structure allows guests to prepare fresh Walleye caught that morning, cook full dinners for groups, pack lunches for remote lake days, and control food costs during the trip.

No street lights
No traffic noise
On a clear night, at the right time, your campfire marshmallow roast will go quiet as everyone appreciates the fireflies, the stars and the northern lights reflecting off the mirror calm lake.

Outdoor Living: Decks, Fire Pits & Lake Access
Each cabin includes outdoor space. Most units feature a wooden deck, BBQ, picnic table, fire pit, and parking space for 2 vehicles and boat/trailer.
Evenings at Rousseau’s Landing often revolve around the fire. Stories of missed strikes, trophy Pike, or Moose sightings carry into the night.
There is a boat launch near the dock. You are welcome to leave your boats at the dock no charge. Electricity is available at the dock. There is ample room to leave your boat trailers in the parking area at the dock.
Cabin Organization: Choosing the Right Fit
Check in: Cabins & Campsites — 2 p.m.
Check out: Cabins — 8 a.m. | Campsites — 10 a.m.
Ideal for Couples or Small Groups — Cabins 3, 4, 12 & 14
These smaller two-bedroom layouts are well suited for couples seeking a quiet week on the lake, two-person fishing partners (we welcome solo travellers), father-and-son trips, and small Bear hunting groups.
These cabins provide privacy, simple sleeping arrangements, and full kitchen functionality without excess space. Most have a deck and a firepit.
Best for Families — Cabins 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11
These mid-sized cabins are excellent choices for parents with children, multi-generational family trips, and groups of three to five guests.
They typically offer 1–3 bedrooms, full private bathrooms, comfortable dining and sitting areas, and most have outdoor decks. Because the property is contained within a Provincial Park setting, traffic and noise are minimal — an important consideration for families with younger children.
Designed for Larger Groups — Cabins 6, 9, 10, and 12EH
For bigger crews — fishing clubs, annual friend groups, or extended family trips — these cabins provide expanded sleeping and gathering space.
Features include additional beds, larger dining tables, open sitting areas, ample kitchen workspace, 1.5 bathrooms, and stand-alone freezers to store your fish.
These work well for six to ten guests, annual group fishing traditions, moose hunting parties, and late-summer trophy Pike trips.
The Screened-In Porch Advantage — Cabin 12EH
Cabin 12EH offers a screened-in porch — a unique feature within the property’s lineup. This space allows guests to enjoy morning coffee outdoors, evening meals with fresh air, protected seating during mosquito season and inclement weather, and lake views in comfort.
For families with children or guests sensitive to insects, this feature often becomes the deciding factor.
The Rousseau’s Landing Cabin Experience
Every cabin at Rousseau’s Landing is designed around a true Northern Ontario housekeeping model. That means: private cabins (no shared hallways or lodge rooms), full kitchens with stove, refrigerator, and essential cookware, private bathrooms with shower (some with bathtubs), outdoor deck space, BBQ, picnic table, and fire pit, and immediate access to Sandbar Lake.
Cabins are rented on a weekly, per-person, per week (children 12 & under half price), making the experience affordable for families and fishing groups alike. You bring your groceries and personal gear — we provide the basecamp.
This setup gives guests freedom. You control your schedule. Cook when you want. Fish at sunrise. Stay out late. Relax around the fire in the evening and celebrate your day.
Location Matters: Sandbar Lake & Provincial Park Setting

Rousseau’s Landing is one of the only private properties located inside Sandbar Provincial Park. That means: no neighboring resorts crowding the shoreline, natural forest surroundings, direct lake access from the resort, and a quiet, controlled environment. Enjoy a wilderness experience while being close to a small town.
Sandbar Lake itself offers strong Walleye and Northern Pike fishing throughout the season. For guests who want to expand their adventure, the property also provides access to multiple surrounding boat cache lakes. You get wilderness fishing — without wilderness complications.
